I was thinking about going home this weekend, but now I'm not sure if I wanna or not. If I go home, I can't really work on NaNo. Which is sad, because I'm way behind. But I would probably get more homework for classes done if I went home.
I think I'm gonna stay here and go home next weekend.
Also, how do you pronounce the name Donovan? Because I want that to be the name for one of my characters, but I'll feel stupid if I can't pronounce my own character's name. I mean, I have a good idea, but I want to be sure.
I'm sleepy. I don't know if it's because I haven't been getting much sleep lately, or because I got the H1N1 vaccination today. By the way, that vaccination? Weird. It was the mist thing, so the just, like, shot some juice into my nose.
I found my old microphone for the computer. I've been wanting to use it for... I dunno, stuff? I kinda wanna record something. But everytime I try, I whatever I decided to say sounds stupid. Like, "Why did I just say that? Why would anyone wanna listen to that?"
So instead, I've been recording the sounds of my typing. I actually really like the sound of typing. And also, I type kinda loud. In high school my mom would call me "The Mad Typist." I'd be on the family computer talking in those chats we used to have all the time, and mom would be in the other room and ask loudly, "I wonder what The Mad Typist is typing about now?"
Maybe I'll post one later.

Tuesday is my official nap day, but today all sorts 'a meetings had to be scheduled. I skipped the study session for my exam on Friday. It wasn't required, and I'm not too worried about it. I am happy with my decision to sleep instead.
I was all excited about NaNoWriMo the first day, but yesterday I didn't want to, and today even less. Weird thing is, while my desire to write has decreased, my desire to draw has went up. Not that I've been drawing anything good - I'm pretty unhappy with everything, but I keep doodling on everything and it is fun times!
The third and fourth graders at College Mentors for Kids yesterday really liked it when I drew Flapjack, so I put together a speed paint last night:
(That pose is pretty terrible, I know. Since it was just a doodle, I just made it up as I went and didn't use a reference or anything.)
I might do another one tonight, but I don't know what I'll draw. These are fun to make, and if I'm not writing, I should at least try to do something creative to keep me motivated.

The song Sour Cherry by The Kills makes me crave an amaretto sour. Mmm... Amaretto sour. Fantastic. One of my favorite drinks. If I drink for the fun and social goodness, vanilla voka and orange soda or rum and coke is choice. But drinking for taste: amaretto sour. <3 But yeah, it probably weird that I sometimes associate songs with tastes. 'Specially since amaretto doesn't taste like cherry.
I don't mean to brag, again, but I looked good today. I got dressed up and everything. Cute little skirt and argyle tights and soft boots. I looked like a little doll and it made me feel good about myself.
I didn't get much done on NaNoWriMo today, and now I am behind you all. Watch your backs though, cause I'll totally catch up.

| nBn |
[02 Nov 2009|03:09pm] |
I'm mostly mentioning this to you, Kristina, so you too would know, but I also have a request for everyone else. As CJ already posted, Megg is closing the nBn forum for good: http://nbnforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=488559
She had already mentioned it a few days ago on the Moderators board, so both BB and I already knew this was going to happen. And if it is up to us, we want to go out with a bang! Trying to gather as many of the oldies as we can, letting them say their goodbyes to the forum that was once their home. So I ask all of you! If you have any way to contact anyone you ever got to know through the forum, then please, ask them to post on that topic! We're not asking to revive the forum again, it's too late for that. But I want Megg to know how much the forum has meant to several of us, how much it has changed our lives, and how many friendships it has created.
The nBn forum has been dead for a while now, but those friendships are still alive. We will not let the forum die without a big bang!

OK, first, I didn't realize that I had set direct messages on Twitter to alert me through text message. So I was weired out when I got a text from BB. I was like, "What? How'd he get my phone number?" But then I realized that that was Twitter's number and had to look up the whole direct message thing.

:(
I mean... I know it's silly, but I feel like it's kinda my fault since after losing my luv of Neopets I stopped visiting the forum as much. But then again, a lot of other people left too, and the fact that things have been slow there for years is another reason that I didn't visit.
But... even if I visited other forums and stuff, nbn had such a special place in my heart. It wasn't my first forum, but it was the first website that really felt like my internet home to me.
At the very least, I'm glad I got to stay in contact with you guys that I met there.
And I had been feeling good this morning because I look particularly cute today. Now I'm dissapointed.

OK, so I totally need to rethink my outline. I'm gonna cut out quite a few Monsters of the week. Otherwise this is going to be way longer than I intended. Because I've barely introduced the two main characters in the human arc, and Tazzy doesn't even have her powers yet - but I've already wrote almost 2,000 words. So 26 chapters of 2000 words is not going to quite work out the way I planned.
I'll work something out later.

I both luv and hate sewing at the same time. It's fun... but it just takes time. And I'm impatient. In fact, it actually doesn't take that much time. I just wanna do other things.
I'm still making my Halloween costume. Because I'm always very last minute on these things. I still have an hour or two before Halloween night.
I'm gonna be a mermaid. I'm working on my tail. I've never maid a mermaid tail before. I've sewn up and cut up this skirt multiple times in order to try out different ways to make it. Next time, I'm not gonna be cheap. I'm gonna buy an actual pattern instead of making up something myself.
Whatever.

| Should be writing an essay... |

I really need to work on this essay, but nothing is coming to me. :( So in an attempt to write something and get my mind working, I've worked out a little outline for NaNo, since that seems to be the thing to do.
As I mentioned before, my NaNo is going to be sugar-coated and girly. I'm pretty much planning to write out a shojo anime, and that's where most of my inspiration is coming from. Since I'm gonna have to power though this, I want it to be something that comes easy to me.
A typical shojo anime will have 26 episodes, which is what I'm going to refer to my chapters as. So 26 episodes means roughly 2000 words per episode. Normally an anime would have two arcs, and the first would end around episode 12-ish. I've decided to push that arc's finale back a little, since it hints at the BIG REVEAL which I don't want to give away too far ahead (though it will probably be super obvious, but... whatever.)
( Outline and Problems I'm working on. )

Yesterday I went back to my hometown to go to the dentist and have a cavity filled. My dentist was awesome - I told her it hurt, and she gave me another shot to numb me! Apparently, this is supposed to be common practice, but I had a dentist who essentially told me to "deal with it" once when I was little - so I had always just assumed I should take the pain when I get cavities filled.
Then I hung out at home for a bit because I couldn't reisit the chance to play some more Majora's Mask. I didn't bring the N64 back though because I really don't need the distractions here. I have a paper due either tomarrow or Friday - the professor wasn't clear.
Then I went to hang out with Ben. We made breakfast for dinner! Biscuits, eggs, and bacon! Glorious bacon! We discovered that you cannot cook bacon fast enough. We made some bacon, and then started on the eggs, and by the time the eggs were done we had ate all the bacon. So we just threw more bacon on the skillet and ate our eggs and biscuits until we got more bacon.
Furthermore - dee-lishous buttery, flaky, soft biscuits! <3
We watched 3 or 4 episodes of "1000 Ways to Die." I wanna give that show some sort of award for fantastic use of puns.
I did some homework, and then we watched Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I know most people roll their eyes at me, but Temple of Doom is probably my favorite Indiana Jones movie. Then the Last Crusade, and then Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'm not even going to mention the travisty that was Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. >.<
I crashed on Ben's futon, and headed back to skool this morning.
I checked out a book to use as a source for the paper I need to work on tonight.
I'm triple booked for this afternoon. I agreed to go to three different things. I'll probably go to the movie for the club I'm actually in - World Cultures Club. But the male beauty pagent that one of the soroities holds did look like fun. And I feel a bit bad for not going to church with my roomie, but I can always do that next week.
I am listening to Radio Disney.
That is all.

Fall break was pretty good. I watched some Princess Tutu.
I luv Princess Tutu. It is officially one of my favorite shows. I feel like I could watch it again and again. It is just amazing, and I luv it. End of discussion.
'Sept I will discuss one more thing about it. Autor reminds me SO MUCH of Dib from Invader ZiM. Which actually kinda makes me a bit sad, because Dib is my favorite character on Invader ZiM but I tend to get annoyed by Autor. I keep thinking, "Oh no! Dib is going to grow up to be Autor!" But I guess Autor isn't so bad... Even if he is snobby and selfish, he does kick Fakir's butt into gear.
(And to be honest, for the first part of the show, I hate Fakir and his selfish, posssesive personality. I am so glad that he actually realizes and admits what a jerk he was and really changes in the end. Having a tragic past does not give you an excuse to manipulate and abuse your friends.)
OK, this is the real end of that discussion.
Majora's Mask!
I really like Majora's Mask. It's a great Legend of Zelda game! Legend of Zelda is one of those series where I honestly cannot pick a favorite. For a long time I said it was Link's Awakening, but I just don't know. I luv Oracle of Seasons a lot, and Majora's Mask and OoT are fantastic too! One of those four is probably my favorite. Let's call them top tier? Second tier would be Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, Oracle if Ages, Minish Cap. I really like Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past, and I enjoy playing them, but they get bottom tier, sorry. I can't remember the NES version, so I don't know where to put that. I don't know where to put Four Swords either, because what I played of it it WAS a good game, but I just did't get to experience much of it because it required multiplayer.
Majora's Mask is so weird though, what with the wearing dead character's faces to transform into them. And you can't save everyone everyday, so you know that while you're working on clearing a temple that a granny is getting mugged, and a little girl is getting abducted by alien ghosts. I luv all the colorful NPCs though - they're interesting. And the game is nicely designed. Yeah, it's a good game. If it were a little longer, I'd definately like it better than OoT, but since it's short, I call them equal.
I only got 3 temples beat over break, and I didn't want to bring the N64 to the dorm with me. So I've been sitting around all day craving to play it and I can't.
Maybe when I go home tomarrow to go to the dentist I'll break down and pick up the N64 to bring back.
A FEW MORE THOUGHTS! Dad watched a football game yesterday and they played "God Save the Queen" after the "Star Spangled Banner." I realize that "God Save the Queen" came first and all, but I can't help it. When I hear it I sing the words to "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" in my head.
Today I was hanging out with my two 3rd grade buddies for College Mentors for Kids. I learned some interesting stuff about history: 1. George Washington was our first president and he fought it World War II. 2. Abraham Lincoln was an Indian when he was a kid. 3. Why is Benjamin Franklin famous anyway? He invented stuff a long time ago, so he shouldn't be famous anymore. It's not like he invented computers.
